Project Description

Performance upgrade! Last Thursday, this Ford Edge installed BONOSS Forged Active Cooling Wheel Spacers, front 25mm (1 inch), PCD 5×108, CB 63.4. What do wheel spacers do? The wheel spacer or adapter is sandwiched between the car’s wheel and hub. By pushing the wheel away an ideal distance from the hub, it creates spaces between the wheel and hub. If your new wheels set up do not have the proper offset, it will cause the wheel to rub against the internal suspension components. (Wheels will stick in too much). Installing wheel spacers or adapters can create extra clearance to push the wheels outward to correct the wrong offset as well as pass larger calipers for wheel fitment. The Ford Edge is one of the most popular performance SUVs on the planet, complete with a modern design, exquisite interior, comfortable seats, and an attractive cabin. It offers advanced technology and lavish features to make the ride more enjoyable. The Ford Edge comes with a punchy twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve inline-4 V-6 engine, delivering 250 hp at 5500 rpm as well as 280 lb-ft torque at 3000 rpm. An 8-speed automatic with manual shifting mode transmission, offering smooth, sharp handling. The steering is firm and fluent, the body control is dynamic and energetic, excellent suitability for road driving.

Are wheel spacers bad?

Totally not. Wheel spacers are used for various reasons. When the offset of wheels is insufficient, wheel spacers would make up the desired offset by pushing the wheels away from the vehicle hub. Having your wheel brought out the ideal distance allows for mounting larger brake calipers without wheel scratching. Hub-centric wheel spacers can make a snug connection between wheel and axle hub, transforming a lug-centric wheel into a hub-centric wheel, meaning elimination of high-speed vibration. By spacing the wheels out, it will provide more stability and better corner control to the vehicle. Honestly, properly filled the wheel arches can really make a car look excellent.

Do wheel spacers affect alignment?

Larger brake calipers can stop your car quicker on the road and provide a more enjoyable control. If you have upgraded your brake system with bigger brake calipers and still want to keep the current wheels attached to your vehicle without scratching, you can use a set of wheel spacers. Wheel spacers are a kind of wheel accessories which are used to create necessary distance on the inner portion of the wheel for clearance problem with brakes, tie rods and other suspension components. By pushing out the wheel, you can gain the ideal amount of clearance for a bigger brake caliper instead of rubbing against it when mounting back the wheel.

Additional Information:

  • BONOSS wheel spacer thickness can be customized flexibly, which is compatible with most vehicles. Thus, if you would like different sizes of wheel spacers, feel free to contact us. This Ford Edge uses front 25mm (1 inch), PCD 5×108, CB 63.4.
  • The matching wheel studs are made of JIS SCM44o high-strength steel, which features many desirable properties such as high strength, wear-resistance, excellent toughness, impact resistance and high-temperature resistance. All BONOSS wheel adapter kits are matching with all necessary hardware components including wheel lug nuts or wheel bolts to suit your vehicle.
  • Each BONOSS product is printed with the logo of “BONOSS”. This offers an easy method to distinguish other fake and inferior products. At the same time, it also provides a way to find our after-sales service.
