Project Description

A small change but a big effect! A few days ago, this Audi S5 B9 installed BONOSS Forged Lightweight Plus Wheel Spacers, front/rear 12mm (1/2 inch), PCD 5×112, CB 66.5 together with BONOSS Forged Grade 12.9 Extended Wheel Bolts. What are wheel spacers? Wheel spacers are a kind of wheel accessories sandwiched between the vehicle hub and the wheel. It is designed to relocate the wheel outward from the wheel hub to solve the clearance problem of suspension components. They also widen the track of the vehicle, leading to more stability and better handling, which is why they are often used on many racing cars. They can also make a car look better by pushing the wheel away in a more visually aggressive position. (Thanks TAR for Supporting.)

As the high-performance variant of Audi’s A5, the Audi S5 is often modified by a lot of enthusiasts. One of the easiest ways to get a better stance and get a wide track as you start your modified build is to add wheel spacers. The avant-garde design, powerful performance, advanced tech features make the S5 to be a great drive coupé that is as dynamic as it expresses. And the spacers enhance its exterior and make it outstanding among the crowd.

How do wheel spacers work?

Wider track for a better corner! Wheel spacers bring your rims and tires outwards so that they can flush with the fender flares, giving your vehicle an excellent stance. Many car manufacturers will leave a certain amount of fender space for tire chains. And most track racing cars would make use of every millimeter of the wheel-wells space available in their design for the highest performance and the best exteriors. A wider wheel track means better traction, hence increasing body control experience. With spacers, you can fill the gap in your fenders and get a more aggressive and powerful look!

Any time you run wheel spacers, extended wheel bolts are a must option for properly fastening the wheel to the vehicle hub. Without the proper thread length, the stock lug bolts will not allow penetrating the vehicle hub threads completely which can cause car shaking or safety risk.

How to confirm the seat type of extended bolts?

Typically, it is the same seat type as the stock bolts you’re using. There are conical seat, R12 ball seat, R13 ball seat, R14 ball seat, flat seat, etc. For the factory wheels, the seat type of the extended bolts must be the same as the factory wheel bolts. For the aftermarket wheels, the seat type of the extended bolts must be the same as the type of the aftermarket wheels. It is essential that the wheel bolts seat and the wheel lug seat match. If the wheel bolts seat type does not fit the wheel seat type, it is possible that the wheel bolts would be bent or damage the wheel. The mismatch between bolts and wheels could potentially cause the bolt to loosen and the wheel to become insecure to the vehicle.

Additional Information:

  • BONOSS wheel spacer thickness can be customized flexibly, which is compatible with most vehicles. Thus, if you would like different sizes of wheel spacers, feel free to contact us. This Audi S5 B9 uses front/rear 12mm (1/2 inch), PCD 5×112, CB 66.5.
  • The extended bolts are spacer structure design, which effectively eliminates the bolts loosening and abnormal sound caused by the PCD hole coaxially deviation between hub and shaft head. This Audi S5 B9 uses M14x1.5 thread ball seat bolts. If you would like a set of extended bolts, please ensure the seat type of the bolts is suitable for threading tightly. And, if you don’t know the proper length, you are welcomed to contact our tech staff freely.
  • Each BONOSS product is printed with the logo of “BONOSS”. This offers an easy method to distinguish other fake and inferior products. At the same time, it also provides a way to find our after-sales service. Our products are 10 Years Limited Warranty (new products with 12 months warranty), which is an excellent and cost-effective choice for your car upgrades.
