Project Description

Performance upgrade! Last Wednesday, this Audi S5 F5 installed BONOSS Forged Lightweight Plus Wheel Spacers, front 12mm(0.5 inches), rear 15mm(0.6 inches), PCD 5×112, CB 66.5 together with BONOSS Forged Grade 12.9 Extended Wheel Bolts. What do wheel spacers do? Wheel spacers are used for various reasons. When the offset of wheels is insufficient, wheel spacers would make up the desired offset by pushing the wheels away from the vehicle hub. Having your wheel brought out the ideal distance allows for mounting larger brake calipers without wheel scratching. For decoration reasons, wheel spacers give your car a more aggressive exterior as well as a better aerodynamics body. (Thanks SGCS for providing these pics)

The Audi S5 F5 Sportback is one of the most popular top-rated 4-door sports cars in the world, complete with a compact design, high-quality interior, comfortable seats, and a modern cabin. The S5 F5 is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 24-V-6 engine, delivering 349 hp at 6200 rpm, 369 lb-ft torque at 1370 rpm, an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering smooth, sharp switch and it is Quattro all-wheel-drive. The best bit with this F5 is the driving experience, and Audi was always not to disappoint here. The steering is precise and direct, body control is excellent and the handling is anything but enjoyable.

Are wheel spacers safe for Audi S5 F5?

Exactly safe. Wheel spacers would only create the necessary distance on the inner portion of the wheel for clearance to solve the clearance problem of brakes, tie rods and other suspension components. If you plan to keep your current wheels and increase the offset of your car for enhancing the handling performance or exterior looks, then wheel spacers will be your ideal choice. Besides, hub-centric wheel spacers can transform a lug-centric wheel into a hub-centric wheel. They are sandwiched by the wheel and vehicle hub. To be considered safe, they will need extended wheel bolts to achieve proper thread engagement.

How to confirm the length of extended bolts?

Generally, it’s easy to figure out the correct size of bolt, all you need to do is to measure the length of your stock bolt then add the thickness of the required spacer, and that will be your ideal extended bolt length. In most cases, you need a bolt that is longer by the thickness of the spacer, for example, your stock bolts are 27mm, the desired spacer is 12mm, then the right size of extended bolts would be 39mm. But there can be exceptions. Considering the critical importance of the length of thread fully engaged in the axle hub, it’s always best to measure from the wheel bolt you’re currently using.

Addtional Information:

  • BONOSS wheel spacer thickness can be customized flexibly, which is compatible with most vehicles. Thus, if you would like different sizes of wheel spacers, feel free to contact us. This Audi S5 F5 uses front 12mm(0.5 inches), rear 15mm(0.6 inches), PCD 5×112, CB 66.5.
  • The extended bolts are spacer structure design, which effectively eliminates the bolts loosening and abnormal sound caused by the PCD hole coaxially deviation between hub and shaft head. This Audi S5 F5 uses ball seat bolts. If you would like a set of extended bolts, please ensure the seat type of the bolts is suitable for threading tightly. And, if you don’t know the proper length, you are welcomed to contact our tech staff freely.
  • Each BONOSS product is printed with the logo of “BONOSS”. This offers an easy method to distinguish other fake and inferior products. At the same time, it also provides a way to find our after-sales service. Our products are 10 Years Limited Warranty (new products with 12 months warranty), which is an excellent and cost-effective choice for your car upgrades.
