For many car enthusiasts who pursue personality and extreme performance, changing wheels and upgrading the braking system is an instantly effective beginning modification. Higher-performance brake kits are often bigger than the stock parts. Installing wheel spacers can create extra clearance to push the wheels outward to correct the wrong offset as well as pass larger calipers for wheel fitment. (Thanks JIESU for Supporting.)
Bigger and better than before, the Volkswagen Lamando is designed to be a delightful and dynamic mid-size sedan. It comes with a modern cabin, comfortable seats, an energetic powertrain, and advanced safety features. As a highly rated sedan in the segment marketplace, the Volkswagen Lamando is often modified by a lot of enthusiasts. There are many advantages of improving the braking performance of your vehicle, such as increasing stopping power and reducing brake fade.
Do I need wheel spacers for rubbing?
The brake caliper consists of brake pads and an internal piston that applies pressure to the brake pad. If you have upgraded your brake system with bigger brake calipers and still want to keep the current wheels attached to your vehicle without scratching, you can use a set of wheel spacers. Wheel spacers are a kind of wheel accessories which are used to create necessary distance on the inner portion of the wheel for clearance problem with brakes, tie rods and other suspension components. By pushing out the wheel, you can gain the ideal amount of clearance for a bigger brake caliper instead of rubbing against it when mounting back the wheel.
How to confirm the seat type of extended bolts?
Typically, it is the same seat type as the stock bolts you’re using. There are conical seat, R12 ball seat, R13 ball seat, R14 ball seat, flat seat, etc. For the factory wheels, the seat type of the extended bolts must be the same as the factory wheel bolts. For the aftermarket wheels, the seat type of the extended bolts must be the same as the type of the aftermarket wheels. If the wheel bolts seat type does not fit the wheel seat type, it is possible that the wheel bolts would be bent or damage the wheel. The mismatch between bolts and wheels could potentially cause the bolt to loosen.
BONOSS wheel spacer thickness can be customized flexibly, which is compatible with most vehicles. Thus, if you would like different sizes of wheel spacers, feel free to contact us. This Volkswagen Lamando uses front 12mm (1/2″), rear 15mm (3/5″), PCD 5×112, CB 57.1.
The extended bolts are spacer structure design, which effectively eliminates the bolts loosening and abnormal sound caused by the PCD hole coaxially deviation between hub and shaft head. This Volkswagen Lamando uses M14x1.5 thread ball seat bolts. If you would like a set of extended bolts, please ensure the seat type of the bolts is suitable for threading tightly. And, if you don’t know the proper length, you are welcomed to contact our tech staff freely.
