How to confirm the length of BONOSS extended bolts?2019-09-23T02:01:27+00:00

After adding wheel spacer, the original bolts will be too short and it’s not safe, so the original bolts need to be replaced with extended bolts.
Suitable length of BONOSS extended bolts = Length of original bolts + thickness of wheel spacer.
Note: If the extended bolt length is greater than original bolt length + thickness of wheel spacer, then you will need to check whether the extended bolts touch the brake system or not.

How to replace BONOSS BLS wheel spacer longer studs?2019-11-26T04:55:16+00:00

BONOSS Replacement Method for BLS Wheel Spacer Longer Studs, As shown:

What should I do if the original stud length is greater than the BONOSS wheel spacer thickness?2019-09-23T02:27:32+00:00

As shown in Figure A: When the length of the original stud protruding from the upper surface of the brake disc is greater than the thickness of the spacer, the original stud will protrude from the spacer plane after installed the spacer. When this happens, we must confirm:
1. Generally speaking, there will be small cavities between the PCD holes of the wheel to make wheel light weight. If the position and depth of these small cavities can completely accommodate the protruding stud from the plane of the spacer, the stud will not touch the wheel. In case, spacer can be installed normally.
2. If the small cavity on the wheel is not in the right position, or the depth is not enough, or there is no small cavity, then the original car studs should be cut short to prevent the protruding studs touching the wheel.
Note: There must be no contact with the wheel after the stud protrudes from the spacer plane, which will affect driving safety.

How to confirm the torque of BONOSS extended bolts?2019-09-23T02:01:45+00:00

BONOSS extended bolts have higher grade and better performance than original bolts, so BONOSS extended bolt can withstand greater torque. Considering the different rims and thread pitch, we suggest to use the same torque that recommended by the car manufacturer.
Generally torque is shown as below:
M12x1.25: 113NM (83.3 Ft-tb)
M12x1.50: 113NM (83.3 Ft-tb)
M14x1.25: 140NM (103.5 Ft-tb)
M14x1.50: 140NM (103.5 Ft-tb)

Here are some tips of Safety Guidelines
(Minimum number of turns for wheel bolts / nuts):
M12 x 1.25 = 8.0 turns = approx. 10 mm of load bearing shaft length
M12 x 1.50 = 6.5 turns = approx. 10 mm of load bearing shaft length
M12 x 1.75 = 6.5 turns = approx. 12 mm of load bearing shaft length
M14 x 1.25 = 9.0 turns = approx. 12mm of load bearing shaft length
M14 x 1.50 = 7.5 turns = approx. 12 mm of load bearing shaft length
1/2″ UNF = 8.0 turns = approx. 11 mm of load bearing shaft length

What is the material, performance, surface treatment for anti-rust, socket selection and tightening torque of the matching nuts?2019-11-26T04:54:46+00:00

The matching nuts of BONOSS wheel spacer are used to fix the wheel spacer to the hub axle and to tighten with the originial studs.
The material of the nuts are high-strength alloy steel, forged process, ISO898-6 grade 10 standard performance, the surface Anti-Rust of the nuts were tested by a neutral salt spray(NSS) of ISO 9227 for 500 hours. Please refer to the test reports of relevant third-party authoritative testing institutions TUV and SGS.
The nuts head dimension of the BONOSS wheel spacer are HEX19. Therefore, the HEX19 socket should be selected for installation. The tightening torque is different for different threads and specifications. Please refer to the following data:
M12x1.25: 113NM(83.3Ft-tb)
M12x1.5: 113NM(83.3Ft-tb)
M14x1.25: 140NM(103.5Ft-tb)
M14x1.5: 140NM(103.5Ft-tb)

What is the material performance, surface treatment for anti-rust, socket selection and tightening torque of the matching studs/bolts?2019-11-26T04:53:59+00:00

The material of the BONOSS wheel spacer studs/Bolts are high-strength alloy steel, forged process, ISO898-1 grade 12.9(partially grade 10.9) standard performance, the surface Anti-Rust of the studs were tested by a neutral salt spray(NSS) of ISO 9227 for 500 hours. Please refer to the test reports of relevant third-party authoritative testing institutions TUV and SGS.
Since the BONOSS studs have the same level or higher level of performance as the original studs/Bolts, the BONOSS extended studs can withstand greater tightening torques.
However, considering different wheels and original stud thread, we recommend using the torque recommended by the original car for locking.
In general, the tightening torque is as follows:
M12x1.25: 113NM(83.3Ft-tb)
M12x1.5: 113NM(83.3Ft-tb)
M14x1.25: 140NM(103.5Ft-tb)
M14x1.5: 140NM(103.5Ft-tb)
